Description:

We are currently searching for a Project Manager in the Roadways Group in our Edmonton office. 

The successful candidate will have experience engaging with clients directly in providing innovative design solutions in the transportation sector. You will lead with a forward-thinking approach that promotes a team environment to improve overall group performance and client service. You will provide technical expertise and project management on transportation projects for public and private sector clients with a focus on highways, roads, and transportation-related infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a leadership role in the preparation of proposals, designs, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents, as well as participating in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, contract administration, and inspection.
  • Advancing projects through the concept, design, and construction phases; managing existing clients; developing new clients. 
  • Delivering projects on budget and within identified schedules.
  • Acting as the primary contact for all project-related client communications.
  • Leading a multi-disciplinary project team to undertake major transportation projects.
  • Mentoring and coaching a team of engineers and technologists. 
  • Engaging in a collaborative work environment with your team, as well as other disciplines and offices.

Qualifications:

What you will bring: 

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution (Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution will also be considered as an alternative). 
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA or eligible for registration (Registered as a C.E.T. with ASET will also be considered with appropriate experience).
  • 10+ years progressive experience in Civil Engineering for public and private sector clients with a focus on the Transportation sector (15+ years experience for Technologist candidates). 
  • Candidates with experience as a consultant working on roadway projects for Alberta Transportation and City of Edmonton will be prioritized. 
  • Proven project management and business development experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel throughout Alberta.
